Call for Papers

Foundation models have recently emerged as a powerful tool for various applications. However, their impact on mobile applications has been less investigated. Recent research showcases their ability to achieve unprecedented capabilities in areas such as task automation, hand sign detection, and visual question answering. However, their increasing complexity poses significant challenges in terms of sensor modality, diverse sensor environments, model efficiency, interactivity, and user experience. The EIFCom workshop aims to provide a forum for researchers, developers, and industry partners to share their experiences, present innovative solutions, and discuss the latest advancements in efficient and interactive foundation models for mobile applications.
We invite researchers, developers, and industry partners to submit papers on the topic of foundation models for mobile applications. The EIFCom workshop aims to provide a forum for sharing experiences, presenting innovative solutions, and discussing the latest advancements in efficient and interactive foundation models for mobile applications. We will explore the intersection of foundation models, mobile computing, and human-computer interaction, identifying new opportunities for enhancing the mobile user experience. By fostering an interdisciplinary discussion, we hope to inspire novel ideas, identify new research directions, and facilitate the development of innovative, efficient, and interactive mobile applications that can transform the way we live and interact with technology.
We also welcome work-in-progress and position papers, especially those that focus on innovative solutions or applications for efficient and interactive foundation models in mobile applications. Papers should be forward-looking, clearly describe their relationship to existing work, and articulate their impact and implications for ongoing or future research.

Topic of Interests

The potential topics include but not limited to:
  • Analysis of foundation models on mobile and wearable sensor data such as radio signals, light, sound, acoustics and others.
  • Foundation models for enhancing mobile human-computer interactions.
  • Strategies to detect and mitigate hallucination of foundation models for mobile sensor data analytics.
  • Multimodal large language models for mobile data analytics and applications across multiple modalities.
  • Mobile sensing systems using on-device and cloud-based foundation models.
  • Benchmark evaluations of efficient on-device foundation models.
  • Efficient fine-tuning and inference of foundation models in mobile computing.
  • Enhancing user interfaces and user experiences in mobile applications using foundation models.

Submission Instructions

We invite original research papers that have not been previously published and are not currently under review for publication. EIFCom follows a double-blinded review process. Papers should contain original material that has not been previously published or currently submitted for consideration elsewhere. Papers should follow the formatting guidelines and should be no longer than 6 pages (two-column, 10-point format) including references, figures, etc. Papers should not include the authors' names and affiliations for double-blind peer review by the program committee. All accepted papers will be published in the proceedings.
